A new and exciting oral history project on the quarrying industry.
Work has started on this Heritage Lottery Funded project to record and collect memories relating to the quarrying industry around Clitheroe. We are interviewing past and present employees and their families and also those affected by the quarries to build a picture of how the industry has changed over the years.
We have been selected to carry out an oral history project for the Ingleborough Dales Landscape Partnership (IDLP).
This is really good news as it will enable us to expand our quarry industry related language collection and allow academics to carry out comparative research - something that has not been possible before.
